With the latest arrests, the total number of people detained in connection with the case has risen to 29.

The three suspects were arrested during a police operation conducted in front of Pioneer Knitwears (BD) Limited, where Dipu Das had worked, in the Jamirdia Masterbari area of Bhaluka upazila on Monday afternoon, according to a press release issued by the district Superintendent of Police on Tuesday evening, Dhaka Tribune reported.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Tajmul Sarkar alias Sadek (22), son of Ripon Sarkar from Bahadurpur village in Trishal upazila; Md Rubel Mia (36), son of Abdul Motaleb from Tarail upazila in Kishoreganj; and Md Robin (37), son of late Aminul Islam from Bandar thana in Narayanganj.

According to police, the suspects were identified through CCTV footage analysis and digital intelligence gathering.

Investigators said the three were present at the scene during the attack and actively participated in the assault. Police alleged that they also incited factory workers and members of the mob, contributing to the violent assault and the inhumane treatment of the victim, according to Dhaka Tribune.

The Shocking Dipu Das Case

Dipu Chandra Das was beaten to death by a mob outside a garment factory in Bhaluka after rumours circulated that he had made derogatory remarks about Islam.

In a gruesome escalation of violence, his body was later hung from a tree and set on fire. Videos of the horrific incident were widely circulated on social media, triggering outrage both within Bangladesh and internationally.

The killing sparked sharp criticism from human rights groups and renewed concerns over mob violence and the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh.
