Pakistani official shot dead in Quetta ambush, gunmen open fire on moving vehicle
Gunmen shot dead a Pakistani government official after attacking his vehicle in the Khatan area of Kachhi district near Quetta, media reports said on Sunday.
Police officials told Dawn News that Naib Tehsildar Sher Dil was travelling to his native village, Khatan, along with his family when armed men opened fire on his vehicle.
According to police, unknown attackers launched the assault when Sher Dil’s vehicle reached near Khatan. The official sustained multiple bullet injuries in the attack.
He was immediately rushed to the district hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
“Sher Dil received multiple bullet wounds that caused his death,” police officials told Dawn News.
His family members, who were travelling with him, remained unharmed in the incident.
Police have launched an operation in the area to trace and arrest the suspects behind the attack.
