Two cargo ships catch fire after being hit by projectiles off Yemen coast, Houthi involvement suspected
Two cargo ships caught fire after they were hit by projectiles off Yemen's Aden, media reports said.
United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Sunday it had been informed of an incident 80 nautical miles southeast of Aden, reported Business Insider.
It is suspected that rebel Houthis were behind the attack.
However, the group has not claimed responsibility for the incident.
The group has been targeting ships in the area for the past several months with missiles and drones.
The British security firm Ambrey later said a cargo vessel from Antigua and Barbuda had been hit by a missile 83 nautical miles southeast of Aden. The ship caught fire but it was contained, reported Business Insider.
No injury was reported.
