According to the FBI, Singh is wanted for his alleged involvement in the Lawrence Bishnoi organised crime group, which US authorities accuse of carrying out violent activities in Southern California and across the United States and Canada.

The alleged activities include targeted assassinations, shootings, murders, kidnappings, extortion, assaults and the trafficking of narcotics and weapons.

The FBI alleges that Singh, who is believed to be in North America, serves as the group’s leader in the region.

He has been charged in federal court in Los Angeles with multiple offences, including:

Conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act;

Conspiracy to interfere with and attempted interference with commerce by extortion; and

Conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.

“Satinderjeep Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, is a dangerous individual, and the FBI and our partners have made it our priority to apprehend him, which is why we’re adding him to the FBI’s list of Top Ten fugitives and offering a reward of up to $1 million for his capture,” FBI Assistant Director in Charge Grandy said.

“The amount of attention this list will bring to his face and description cannot be overstated; his photo will be found on every FBI-affiliated website and social media platform, and will be publicized on every phone around the world until he’s caught,” he added.

Operation Hardball

On July 7, 2026, the US Attorney’s Office announced the results of Operation Hardball and the unsealing of three indictments charging 37 defendants allegedly connected to three India-based transnational organised crime groups.

The defendants were charged with a range of alleged criminal offences, including the 2023 assassination in Canada of a prominent Indian political and religious figure.

“The inclusion of this defendant on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list underscores this administration’s determination to bring the full force of the law upon transnational criminal gangs,” First Assistant US Attorney Bill Essayli said.

“Working together with law enforcement in Canada, Europe, and Asia, we will continue to hunt down thugs such as ‘Goldy Brar’ and ensure they never see the outside of a prison again,” he added.

Operation Hardball was the result of a years-long federal investigation into Indian crime syndicates allegedly involved in racketeering, targeted killings, shootings, extortion, large-scale narcotics trafficking across international borders and other crimes.

US authorities said the activities of these groups have had a particular impact on Indian diaspora communities.

At the time of the July announcement, 24 of the federal defendants had been arrested or were already in custody. The FBI and its international partners have since captured four additional fugitive defendants.

One fugitive has been determined to be deceased, while authorities continue to search for five others, including Singh. The remaining fugitives are Major Singh, Sukhraj Singh Kang, Kamal, whose full name was not provided, and Gurpreet Singh.

One of the three indictments focuses on the Bishnoi enterprise, for which Singh allegedly served as a leader.

The Bishnoi enterprise

Lawrence Bishnoi, a 33-year-old gangster from Punjab, India, is currently imprisoned in India. US authorities allege that he leads a transnational criminal enterprise operating in India, the US and other countries.

According to the indictment, Bishnoi cultivated a public image of himself as a religious “patriot” and used that image to recruit members and associates to his criminal network.

US prosecutors allege that Bishnoi directed criminal activities from prison using contraband mobile phones and other voice-over-internet-protocol devices.

The Canadian government designated the Bishnoi enterprise as a terrorist entity in September 2025.

According to the indictment, Bishnoi delegated aspects of the enterprise’s day-to-day operations to trusted lieutenants, including Singh. Prosecutors allege that Singh spoke on Bishnoi’s behalf and helped direct members and associates of the organisation worldwide.

US authorities allege that the group used violence and threats to create fear, particularly in India and among Indian diaspora communities, and exploited that fear to extort victims. The indictment also alleges that the group promoted its activities through online videos and social media posts.

Among the allegations in the indictment is the assassination of a prominent political and religious leader identified in US court documents as “H.S.N.” The leader was from Punjab and was living in Canada when he was killed.

According to the indictment, Bishnoi and Singh are charged with ordering the assassination, in which two gunmen allegedly shot and killed H.S.N. as he left a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, 2023.

The indictment further alleges that between March 2024 and July 2025, the Bishnoi enterprise stole approximately 520 kilograms (1,146.4 pounds) of cocaine from rival drug-trafficking groups in the greater Los Angeles area.

Singh added to FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list

Singh is the 543rd person to be added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

Since the list was established in 1950, 28 defendants accused of crimes in the Los Angeles region have been placed on the list. Another 36 defendants accused of crimes elsewhere in the US have been arrested in Los Angeles.

The FBI considers Singh extremely violent, armed and dangerous. The agency said he is known to have resided in California and various parts of Canada.

The allegations against Singh remain subject to the US judicial process, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
