The Line between chaos and peace
The month of May 2023 witnessed ethnic strife between different communities of Manipur, that has affected the social harmony and posed a serious internal security threat. Jiribam and Tamenglong district, which has a fair mix of affected communities also felt the impact of tensed situation. State police and civil administration was sucked into a complex and volatile security situation that was intensifying with every passing minute.
In order to draw "The line between Chaos and Peace," the "Friends of the Hill People Assam Rifles were requisitioned in aid to civil authorities along with Indian Army and other CAPFS. Aiming to reinstate the sovereignty and peace, Assam Rifles and CAPFS orchestrated a well-coordinated action plan that was executed under the conditions of informatization. Synergised actions to include routine flag marches, intensive area dominations, provision of medical aid to locals even at remotest locations, interaction with CSOs, village heads, subduing subversive and sabotage attempts by miscreants has resulted in bringing calm in Jiribam District.
On 31 May 2023 a show off force was organised by Assam Rifles and CAPFs in Jiribam, wherein more than 400 soldiers participated. The message of peaceful coexistence, confidence building measures, maintaining law and order and discouraging any support to inimical agents was spread. These coordinated measures by security forces in Jiribam District are accomplishing the diversified tasks and further thickening the "Line Between Chaos and Peace".
