BJP, SP, Congress peas of the same pod: Mayawati
Lucknow/UNI: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Wednesday accused Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of having a tacit understanding and neglecting Dalits, Muslims and backward castes and said there is a need for the people to protect themselves from the tactics of selfish people and fake organisation who want to divide the society in the upcoming elections.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of BSP's founder Kanshi Ram, Mayawati said that efforts have to be made to move forward by learning a lesson from what Kanshi Ram said regarding the treacherous elements of 'flatter era'.
"It has to be kept in mind that more or less BJP, SP and Congress are extremely casteist and anti-Bahujan parties, only then the way forward will be paved," he said.
After paying rich tributes to Kanshi Ram at the state office of BSP, she said that the country is still in the grip of casteist government and elements like them and its curse can be got rid of only the persecuted people control of the power of the state and the country through their tremendous constitutional right of vote.
BSP supremo said that the people of UP have seen the blatant casteist and anti-reservation attitude of the BJP, Congress and SP, as well as the game of depriving SC, ST, OBC, Muslim and religious minorities of their legal rights and justice and have also seen the difference between the words and actions of these parties.
She said, "This proves that all these parties are peas of the same pod and the SC, ST, OBC and Muslim community should not make the same mistake by getting trapped into a mirage and expect their real welfare from them."
Mayawati said that it is not a hidden fact that the people of the state are dejected and distressed due to rising inflation, acute poverty, unemployment, insecurity of life and property, the wrong policies of the government and its biased and malicious activities.
She said that specially the Dalit and backward class people are suffering a lot in this government for their rights and justice.
"The government is playing with the future of crores of youths by turning the reservation for these classes inactive and ineffective. Therefore it is very important to remain vigilant and cautious on every step especially in the local body elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh," she said.
The BSP president said that the poor class and the backward Bahujan Samaj had been the victims of the anti-poor and blind pro-rich policies of the central and UP governments, but now the middle class and upper middle class are also getting affected by their short-sighted economic policies and wrong decisions.
"The atmosphere of the country is turning into desperation due to this," she said.
