Fiji Deputy PM praises India during closing ceremony of World Hindi Congress, Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan resonates
Suva: 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan resonated all around when Fiji's Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad said that India is one of the world leaders in terms of economy and politics at the closing ceremony of the World Hindi Conference.
Prasad was quoted as saying by ANI, “India is one of the world leaders in terms of economy, politics and a big leader of developing countries. India is moving in the right direction under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and External Affairs minister S Jaishankar.”
“In the last few 10-15 years, the propaganda and dissemination of Hindi and how Hindi is taught has been reduced, it has been made weak. But our government has taken steps to strengthen Hindi,” he added.
External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, led the Indian delegation comprising Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, V Muraleedharan; Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Kumar Mishra; Members of Parliament; and senior officials attended the 12th World Hindi Conference in Fiji.
The Government of Fiji was represented at the highest levels at the Conference, which saw the participation of President of Fiji Ratu Wiliame Katonivere; Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka; all three Deputy Prime Ministers viz. Biman Prasad, Manoa Kamikamica, Viliame Gavoka; Minister of Education, Aseri Radrodro; Minister for Multi-ethnic Affairs and Sugar, Charan Jeath Singh; Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Agni Deo Singh; and other senior government officials.
President Rato Wiliame Katonivere and EAM jointly inaugurated the Conference on 15 February 2023.
