Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hosts colorful Holi celebrations, US Commerce Secy Raimondo, EAM attend
New Delhi: Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hosted a colourful Holi celebration at his residence here on Wednesday, which saw External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and visiting US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo enjoying themselves as they were splashed with the bright colours of Holi.
The Defence Minister, in a tweet, posted pictures of the celebrations, including one of the US Commerce Secretaries, dancing with him to the beat of dhol, played at his residence.
Other pictures showed Gina Raimondo being welcomed by his family members with garlands and tika, and colour being smeared on her.
“Delighted to host the United States Secretary of Commerce, Ms. Gina Raimondo on the auspicious occasion of Holi at my official residence,” he tweeted.
EAM S Jaishankar posted a pictures of himself attired in kurta with a colourful scarf around his neck, and splashed in red and green abir – dried Holi colour, with the US Commerce Secretary similarly splashed with bright colours.
“Celebrating Holi with US Commerce Secretary @SecRaimondo at Defence Minister @rajnathsingh ji’s house,” he tweeted.
Other ministers at Rajnath Singh’s house included Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and MoS External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi – all similarly enjoying themselves and unrecognisable with their faces and attire covered in the colours of Holi.
