North India's biggest Zoo to be opened for public next month: Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha
Jammu: The upcoming zoo in Jammu, named as ‘Jambu Zoo’-one of the biggest in the North India, will be thrown open for the public next month, said J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha while inspecting the site located along Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Nagrota area here in the city outskirts.
“Site inspection of Jambu Zoo, Jammu to review the progress of the construction work,” the official handle of LG’s office tweeted.
It further wrote, “this biggest Zoo of North India, will be opened to the public next month.”
The zoo is being built in the total area of 163.40 Ha and will have an Orientation Centre, Aviary, Leopard Enclosure, Tiger Enclosures, View Points, Sambar Enclosure, Black Deer enclosure, Brown deer enclosure, parks etc.
Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, Black Beer, Marsh Crocodile, Black bugs will be the main attractions in Jambu Zoo and will also have reptile chambers hosting the poisonous and non-poisonous snakes.
One of the biggest in north India, the zoo will also have an open amusement theatre and park for children and will have battery operated cars and bicycles for the visitors to move around.
