Saif was stabbed repeatedly, he tried to protect Taimur and Jeh: Kareena Kapoor Khan records statement with police
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan said in her statement with police that her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan, was stabbed repeatedly while he tried to protect his children during an encounter with an intruder during a burglary bid at their place on Wednesday late night, media reports said.
"The attacker was aggressive. I saw him attack Saif repeatedly... Our priority was to take Saif to the hospital," said Kareena.
The actress said the attacker took to his heels and fled the spot without taking any valuables.
She said Saif was trying to protect his children Taimur and Jehangir or Jeh.
When the attacker could not get hold of Jeh, he stabbed Saif, the actress claimed.
Kareena added that she was terrified by the incident and went to her sister, actress Karisma Kapoor's house.
The 'Jab We Met' was out for 'girls night' with Karisma and others from the industry just hours before Saif was stabbed. She had posted an Instagram story from the party.
The man who allegedly stabbed Saif at his Bandra home is still at large forcing the manhunt to continue.
About 30 police teams are deployed to nab the accused, who was caught in the CCTV of Saif's apartment. The accused was seen using the staircase of the building.
One person has been detained for quizzing.
Saif underwent a 2.5-hour plastic surgery and neurosurgery and is out of danger now, doctors at Lilavati Hospital said.
The 54-year-old's son from his previous marriage, Ibrahim Ali Khan, and a caretaker reportedly took the bleeding actor to hospital. He was stabbed at around 2:30 am on the night of the incident.
However, unfamiliar with the family’s automatic electric vehicle, Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw.
The incident has raised questions about security measures in the building, as the police continue their investigation into the break-in.
