'Vajpayee also used a word...': Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on his words being expunged
New Delhi/IBNS: Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday asked Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on why his words were being expunged from the record, media reports said.
Speaking in Parliament's upper house, Kharge said, "There was no unparliamentary word in my speech. Still you selectively removed some words. If you had any doubts on this, you could have talked to me in a way."
"Vajpayee sahab had used the same word for Narasimha Rao-ji (former Prime Minister). The word is still in the books. Please check the record," the senior Congress MP added.
'मेरी स्पीच में कोई भी असंसदीय शब्द नहीं था। फिर भी आपने चुन-चुनकर कुछ शब्दों को हटाया।

In reply, Dhankhar, the country's Vice President, said, "The ultimate defender of the LoP is the Chairman."
Earlier, Congress top leader and MP Rahul Gandhi's words against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the pot boiling Adani issue were also expunged.
Gandhi on Wednesday asked reporters in Parliament, " Why were my words expunged?"
"I asked him simple questions (about his relationship with billionaire Gautam Adani). He did not answer them... it reveals the truth. If they were not friends, he would have agreed to an inquiry. He said nothing about allegations of shell companies in the defence sector," the Wayanad MP said as quoted by NDTV.
