10 suspected Kuki insurgents killed in encounter with security forces in Manipur's Jibram, curfew imposed
Imphal/IBNS: At least 10 suspected Kuki insurgents were killed in an encounter with security forces in Manipur's Jibram district on Monday, the Manipur Police said.
During the attack, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan also received injuries and is undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College in Assam.
The suspected Kuki militants initially launched an attack on a police station in Jibram from two sides, prompting the encounter to begin.

After attacking the police station, the suspected Kuki insurgents then spread out towards a small settlement in Jakurador Karong, which is 1 km from the police station.
According to reports, they began setting ablaze the houses in that settlement while simultaneously engaging in a gunfight with the security forces.
Kuki civil society groups have announced a shutdown in areas dominated by them over the deaths of who they called "village volunteers".
Several weapons were recovered following the gunfight including rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and AK series assault rifles.
Operations in and around Jakuradhor, under Borobekra Police Station, Jiribam District continued to flush out armed militants till the last received report,
Reinforcement teams consisting of Assam Rifles, CRPF, and civil police have been rushed there.
