Manipur: One killed, another injured in bomb blast near Imphal College
Imphal/UNI: A student identified as Oinam Kenegy and another student identified as Salam Michael were injured in a bomb blast on Friday night at the DM University campus here.
Police said the blast occurred near the wall of the office of the All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) inside the campus.
Both injured were rushed to the hospital, but Kenegy succumbed to injuries. In another incident at Tera here last night, a bomb exploded, but no one was injured.
Police said there were reports of assault on a journalist and fire in two different places by unknown persons early Saturday.
Police said the offices of the United Committee Manipur (UCM) here at Lamphelpat and Macha Leima School were also burned by unknown persons. Fire tenders rushed in early Saturday to control the fire. A journalist was also assaulted at Wangkhei. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
