In a city threatened by the notorious international terrorist Badami Hyena, a long-forgotten detective, Deepak Chatterjee, is brought out of retirement by his creator, prolific pulp writer Swapankumar.
They unite with Deepak's trusted confidante, Ratanlal to capture Badami Hyena and secure a secret container holding his lifeline.
Speaking at the trailer launch, Abir, who frequently plays detective roles onscreen, says, "The world of Swapankumar and Deepak Chatterjee was hugely popular at one point of time.
"But whatever may be the reason, it is no longer relevant in popular culture. We have tried to analyse the reason in our film."

In a few words, Shruti says, "My character is very different in this film. I am very excited."
As Deepak relentlessly pursues Badami Hyena, a captivating story unfolds, weaving history, culture, and clever narrative tricks, rekindling the forgotten legacy of Swapankumar and Deepak Chatterjee.
Debaloy, who has delivered a hit web series 'Indubala Bhaater Hotel' just last year, shared he wanted to make the "world of Swapankumar and Deepak Chatterjee" relevant again.
"Deepak Chatterjee is not just a detective but a world which was created by Swapankumar, who was the first Bengali pulp writer. Such a kind of writing was lost," Debaloy says and adds, "But now as these pulp thrillers have been taken seriously, it's our time to make Deepak Chatterjee and his creator Swapankumar relevant."
The film will hit the theatres on January 12.
