102-Ambulance Service workers continues agitation demanding promised salaries, hardship for patients

The ambulance services through 102 toll free number stalled for consecutive third days as about 400 out-sourced employees of the Ambulance services continues their agitation demanding promised salary, EPF , ESI along with other essential benefits etc and agitated workers on Friday again threatened to intensify their statewide agitation if their demands are fulfill.
On Friday again, the 102-Ambulance services across Tripura remained disrupted as drivers and other employees continued their agitation in support of their demands and staged a mass protest in front of IT-Bhavan at Indranagar area of Agartala.
Later, a delegation met the director of the Department of Information Technology and submitted their seven point charter of demands.
Speaking with media persons, some ambulance drivers and other workers alleged that their outsources company ‘CAMP’ years ago assured of Rs. 12,500 salary per month with other facilities like ESI, EPF etc, but after passing of three years , they are not getting their promised salaries and other benefits.
They said that for the last five years they continue their crucial duties for their making and transporting lakh of patients in different hospitals across the state, but the CAMP, control room national ambulance service company has totally failed to keep their promises during recruitment of employees.
They alleged that the CAMP company promised them of Rs. 12,500 monthly salary, but they are providing only Rs. 8000 as salary per month and the company does not provide other essential benefits including EPF and ESI.
The protesters also alleged that despite repeated assurance given by the concerned authorities, nothing has been done so far and at present above 400 employees including drivers and nurses are suffering a lot to maintain their families despite working round the clock.
It may be recalled here that due to ongoing protest by 102-Ambulance service workers, the transportation of patient services has completely disrupted across the state and hundreds of patients are suffering tremendous hardship to access ambulance services.
