13 TPS, IPS officers transferred
In another administrative reshuffle, altogether 13 police officers including one IPS and 12 TPS Grade-II officers in different wings of state police.
One after one successive operation, the capital city police has managed to curb growing incidents of stolen cases across the city and within the last 18 days, altogether 15 noted thieves were arrested only by West Agartala police station.
Giving details of their successive operations to control activities of thieves and other miscreants around the city, SDPO (Sadar) Ajoy Kumar Das on Saturday said that on Friday midnight, the police personnel from West Agartala police station arrested two noted thieves identified as Sukhen Hrishi Das of Durga Choumohani area and Sukhen Tanti of Ranir Bazar area.
He said that based on secret information, police have arrested the duo from their hideouts and stolen items including LED TV under their possession. Das added that both arrested thieves were also involved in a number of stolen incidents committed across the city and both arrested thieves will be produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
He hoped that soon , the city police would manage to arrest the remaining gang members of thieves, who had created panic across the city by committing stolen incidents one after one.
