500 MW solar powers by 2030 in state: Ratan Nath
The state government has taken up a big project in solar power generation with an aim is to generate 500 megawatt solar power by 2030 and for the solar power generation solar panels will be established in the roof of every household, said Power Minister of Tripura, Ratan Lal Nath.
Nath, while inaugurating a 33KV sub-station at Birchandra Manu on Monday, said that the production of maximum power generated in the state by extracting from natural underground gas will be finished.
But the sun will shine always as such by utilizing sunshine. We want to be self-sufficient by non-conventional power generation. Ratan Lal Nath further said that any residents can submit prayers for establishing rooftop solar power generation scheme, out of total cost of the project 50% will be borne by the government and rest 50% to bear by the petitioner himself.
He further said that modernizing the electric service in the state endeavor is going on through a multi-faceted way rapidly, by increasing the numbers of sub-station, by expanding underline electric cable, to converting over line cable as underground cable etc. In our state at present there are 51 numbers of substations in Tripura. During the last 6 years as many as 2200 substations of 11KV were constructed, there to construct 16 numbers of substations, the quantity of 63 Megawatt power generation projects will be doubled by installing modern infrastructure at Rukhia in coming days.
“In our state there is no 400KV power substation but to give better electricity service to the people of the state this type of infrastructure is required urgently,” said Nath and added that an initiative has been taken to establish a 400 KV substation at Suryamaninagar and under “soabhagya yogana” as many as 1 lakh 36 thousands beneficiaries’ received electricity connection. Tender process for installing 5 lakh 97 thousands smart meter in the houses of beneficiaries has been completed already and will be installed soon for uninterrupted power supply.
Nath also had a conversation with the working employees of Birchandra substation and requested them to provide all sorts of service so that the new beneficiaries of 10 villages will get the right electricity service. In this inaugural function a welcome address was given by MD,TSECL Debashish Sarker. Apart from them minister Suklacharan Noatia and MLA Promode Reang also delivered speeches. Prior to this programme Ratan lal Nath inaugurated a knowledge centre in the adjacent area of Betaga SA office.
