561 Dengue, 14,191 Malaria cases reported in Tripura till date
Tripura has registered as many as 561 Dengue cases in the past three weeks and more 14,191 Malaria cases with two deaths.
As per the media bulletin on vector borne diseases, the highest number of cases 362 have been reported from the worst affected Sepahijala district , followed by 165 in West Tripura district and 29 more from Unakoti district. As per the report, one each case has also been detected from Khowai, Dhalai and North Tripura districts, whereas two more Dengue cases were also confirmed by ELISA test from Gomati district.
Health officials said that three districts including Sepahijala, West Tripura Unakoti have borders with neighbouring Bangladesh. With transborder mosquito movement suspected to be the reason for the Dengue transmission in the state’s border villages.
Officials also said that the Health department has categorized 1,122 patients as suspected cases of Dengue as they are detected positive in the Antigen test. A special unit has been made operational ast Agartala Government Medical College (AMC) and GB Hospital for treating Dengue positive patients.
Besides, incidences of Malaria infection have also been increased at its manifolds and the cumulative caseload of the state this year stands at 14, 191 including worst affected district, Dhalai tested highest number Malaria positive cases at 9,877, which is known as the hotbed of the vector borne disease.
