A govt employee pronounced guilty for rape, judgement on Monday
A government head clerk posted at the Medical Superintendent (MS) office of GB Hospital has been pronounced guilty of rape by the district and session judge of West Tripura district on Friday.
Giving details of the case, public prosecutor (PP) advocate Arindam Deb said on August 25, 2019 last accused Uttam Kumar Debbarma posted at the MS office of GB Hospital as head clerk committed rape to a woman.
After the heinous incident, an FIR was filed at Budhjungnagar police station over the statement of victim women and police, after investigation filed the charge-sheet under section 376(I) and 379 of IPC against Uttam Kumar Debbarma.
During the trail of the case, the prosecution produced 14 witnesses and court recorded their statements, said advocate Deb and added that after long hearing, the court on Friday pronounced guilty of rape to accused Uttam Kumar Debbarma. He said that the district and session court of West Tripura district will pronounce the judgement on Monday.
