Ashish, Sudip meet Rahul Gandhi, Kharge in New Delhi

The newly appointed president of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha on Wednesday met the senior party leaders including Rahul Gandhi and the AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi and sought their blessings.

Party MLA and senior leader Sudip Roy Barman, AICC in-charge for the state Dr Ajoy Kumar and secretary in-charge Szarita Laitphlang also accompanied them. After meeting the leaders PCC president Ashish Kumar Saha  said both leaders has expressed their interest over strengthening the party organization in Tripura and assured all kinds of cooperation from AICC.

Saha said Rahul Gandhi gave them 25 minutes of time and heard the situation of the state in detail. The leaders apprised Rahul on the general situation in the state including the large-scale post poll violence. He said a separate report also was sent to the AICC regarding the incidents of post poll violence and where the Congress offices were burnt down by BJP. They have requested help from the AICC regarding rebuilding the party offices destroyed in different places across the state.

It was the first Delhi visit of Ashish Kumar Saha after taking over the charge of PCC president and all the leaders of the AICC expressed interest over Tripura and gave a guide line on how to prepare the party for coming Lok Sabha elections.
