Assam CM attended ‘Booth Vijoy Abhijan’ in Agartala, held meeting with party leaders
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who arrived Agartala on Monday morning on a one-day visit, has attended BJP’s ‘Booth Vijoy Abhijan’ at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma after landing at the MBB airport in Agartala, was accorded a warm welcome by Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha and other top leaders of the party.
This visit of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the convener of Northeast Democratic Alliance assumes very significant as the assembly poll for Tripura will be held in February, 2023 next and ruling BJP is planning to contest all 60 assembly seats alone.
During Booth Vijoy Abhijan BJP national spokesperson and NE coordination Sambit Patra , state election in-charge Mahendra Singh, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma, union minister of state Pratima Bhowmik and former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb were also present.
BJP is stressing in the maximum efforts on its Booth Vijoy Abhijan and it will lay the party’s foundation for the next election. The inaugural program in the Rabindra Bhavan virtually turned into a training session for the important party functionaries who will implement the campaign on the ground.
After the meeting at Rabindra Bhava, the leaders participated in the Booth Vijoy Abhijan at 8-Town Bordowali assembly constituency including Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, state’s BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee. The leaders like state’s BJP Prabhari (in-charge) Dr Mahesh Sharma, union minister Pratima Bhowmik, deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma also visited many booths of the constituency.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, national spokesperson Sambit Patra, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Mahendra Singh, MP Samir Orang and Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia visited many booths under 6-Agartala assembly constituency.
Sources said that apart from party programmes, Assam CM Sarma has also discussed at various levels which will finalize the party’s policy in the next election especially in the hills.
This visit of the Assam chief minister to Tripura is being seen as an attempt by the BJP to boost the morale of its party leaders and workers ahead of the 2023 assembly elections in the state.
