Assam Rifles detained 3 drug peddlers with 23 kgs Ganja
Assam Rifles in a joint operation with police seized 23 kg of the Ganja (Cannabis) worth Rs 9.2 lakh from general areas of Ambassa under Dhalai district on Tuesday.
Based on credible information, a joint operation was launched by Assam Rifles and Tripura police in the general area Ambassa. The team seized 23 Kg of Ganja worth Rs 9.2 lakh and apprehended three drug peddlers. Seized contents and the apprehended individuals were handed over to Ambassa Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Earlier, on Tuesday Assam Rifles flagged off from nine day National Integration Tour to Shillong, Guwahati and Tezpur for the 18 boys and 10 girls of remote schools in Cachar, Tamenglong and Noney districts of Assam and Manipur from 12-20 March under project Operation Sadbhavna.
The tour was flagged off from Assam Rifles Headquarters at Srikona, Silchar and during the nine days tour, students will be visiting various places of cultural and scientific importance at Shillong, Guwahati and Tezpur.
Aimed at broadening the horizons of children in remote areas and also aiding them in gaining knowledge about the different cultures and scientific developments of our great nation, the tour would also endeavour to boost patriotism and instill national pride among the students.
