Assam Rifles seized 20,000 Yaba tablets from Sonamura border
Assam Rifles seized 20,000 Yaba tablets near Bangladesh border at Sonamura under Sepahijala on Tuesday.
AR sources said that based on the specific information regarding smuggling of drugs near Bangladesh Border at Sonamura, Sepahijala district, a swift operation was launched by the Assam Rifles. After reaching the location security forces observed the movement of two suspicious individuals on high-speed Motorcycle near Bangladesh border who on being challenged did not stop but rather tried to flee from the location. The Assam Rifles team chased the vehicle, as a result of panic the motorcyclists threw 2 sealed packets into bushes near the forest road and escaped by taking advantage of dense foliage and forest.
The team after thorough search of the area, found the two sealed packets which contained 20,000 Yaba tablets.
