BJP-CPM clash, six injured in Teliamura
At least six persons including two police personnel sustained injuries after a clash among the supporters of ruling BJP and opposition CPI(M) erupted at Korailong School Chowmuhani area of Teliamura subdivision under Khowai district on Saturday evening, which created massive tension in that area.
Sources said that a car has been ransacked during a pitch-battle among supporters of both parties and at least six workers of both parties were admitted to local hospital.
Sources added that the clash took place when two processions of the rival parties came face to face on Saturday evening, while the CPI(M) was organising a road side meeting and the BJP was organising a procession. Clash started as both the sides came face to face. Both the sides alleged each other for the clash . Immediately , police forces rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
However, additional forces have also been deployed in the area after escalating tension.
Opposition CPI(M) organized the street meeting in support of SFI’s rally in Teliamura on November 9th next students and they alleged that the attack was committed by BJP workers to vandalise the street meeting . On the other hand the local BJP MLA Kalyani Roy said that CPI(M)’s unprovoked attack proves how they are trying to vitiate the atmosphere in the area before the ensuing assembly election. BJP also filed a complaint and demanded immediate police action.
