Border Guards celebrates 77th Independence Day
On the occasion of 76th Anniversary of India’s Independence, M P Gupta, IG BSF of Tripura frontier hoisted the national flag at headquarters and congratulated all the border men and their family members. Officers, SOs and other ranks were present during the ceremony. A wreath-laying ceremony was also organized to remember the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation.
M P Gupta reminded the supreme sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to make our future bright. He emphasized that it is our moral responsibility to make a fearless and progressive society to protect the future of our next generation. The Inspector General distributed fruits among patients at Composite Hospital.
Several programs under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” like “Meri Mati Mera Desh”, Cycle and MotorCycle rally, tree plantation, 5 Kms Tiranga run, band display, cultural programme, march with civil society with national flags were organized to spread awareness among the local populace to inculcate the sense of integration in the mainstream of the nation. Collection of Mati in the Amrit kalash was done and people took pledge with taking Mati in their hand.
Like last year, this year also the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign was organized at frontier headquarters, all under command HQrs and at BOPs. National flag was hoisted on all the Govt. and Residential buildings. BSF Wives Welfare Association members also actively participated in the programme organized under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. People residing along the extreme territorial limit of India participated in the celebrations with utmost enthusiasm.
