BSF apprehends one smuggler with Yaba tablets
BSF in its continuous efforts to curb the trans-border smuggling in Tripura, on the intervening night Monday-Tuesday succeeded in seizure of 7,800 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 39 lakh. In addition to Yaba, also rescued six Cattle heads and seized 620 Kgs sugar and other contraband items having a combined seizure value Rs. 50.74 lakh.
BSF troops in a joint operation with Custom Agaratala and Sonamura carried out search in a suspected house located in Kulubari village (Kajitila) under Sonamura police station of Sepahijala district and seized 39 packets containing 7,800 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 39 lakh and apprehended one suspect.
Apprehension of suspects with Yaba tablets is certainly a jolt to drug syndicates involved in trans-border smuggling. Public awareness and support are required to maintain the society ‘Drug free ‘.
