Central Sanskrit University celebrates Hindi Pakhwada (fortnight)
Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus, Agartala at Lembucherra, Tripura, celebrated Sanskrit Week from September 14 to 27, 2023 in its campus premise. In the inaugural function of the same on September 14 Prof. Sukanta Kumar Senapati, Vice-Chancellor of Shri Somnath Sanskrit University, Gujarat, remained present as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he opined that Hindi is functioning as the link language in our country and added that Hindi has the potentiality to unify the whole nation along with its linguistic diversity in a single thread. The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Director of the Campus who in his speech applauded the initiative taken by the Rajbhasha Department of Govt. of India in promoting Hindi. In the inaugural session welcome speech was delivered by Prof. Awadesh Kumar Chaubey, Head of the Department of Bouddha Darshan whereas the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sambit Mohapatra, Assistant Professor (Advaita Vedanta). On this occasion various kinds of Hindi literary competitive events such as essay writing, elocution contest, letter writing etc. were organized for all the staff and students of the campus.
In the valedictory session of the same on September 27, Ramswarup Tiger, Deputy-Director, Doordarshan Kendra Agartala, remained present as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he urged all to increase the usage of Hindi in official communications so that this language can take the shape of national language in future and further added that Hindi has the potentiality to keep unity in diversity in India. Along with him, Prof. Awadesh Kumar Chaubey, Head of the Department of Bouddha Darshan graced the dais as Guest of honour. Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Director of the Campus presided over the valedictory session. This whole Hindi fortnight event was coordinated by Dr. Brahma Nand Mishra, Assistant Professor (Hindi).
