Clash among ruling party supporters, deputy Gram Pradhan, his brother admitted hospital
The factional feud and clash among two rival groups of ruling BJP seriously injured one deputy Gram Pradhan and his younger brother, who were admitted to Gomati district hospital.
The clash among the rival faction of BJP erupted in front of the party office located at Mailak Gram Panchayat under Amarpur subdivision of Gomati district.
Sources said that the deputy Gram Pradhan Sudip Debnath and his younger brother Pradip Debnath were busy in a meeting along with other party workers in front of Mailak party office on Thursday evening to finalise their victory celebration after by-poll results. Suddenly, another group of BJP workers and leaders led by booth presidents of 33 and 35 under Amarpur assembly constituency, Shilip Das and Biswajit Debnath respectively attacked deputy Gram Pradhan Sudip Debnath and his younger brother Pradip Debnath.
Amidst indiscriminate attack, other supporters managed to escape from the spot, but deputy Gram Pradhan Sudip Debnath and his younger brother Pradip Debnath were unable to escape from the spot and they were severely thrashed. Later, miscreants leaving two brothers in bloody condition leave the spot.
Amidst hue and cry, local villagers rushed to the spot and shifted both injured brothers to Amarpur sub divisional hospital and were referred to Gomati district hospital due to their critical injuries. After the clash among ruling party supporters, tension gripped the entire Mailak village area and large numbers of police and security forces were deployed.
