Cleanliness rally in Agartala with awareness for Swachh Bharat campaign
In an initiative led by the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) organized a cleanliness rally on Sunday marking the launch of India Cleanliness League 2.0. This event has earned Agartala a historic milestone in their quest for cleanliness and nationwide unity.
In that rally, over 3,000 enthusiastic volunteers gathered at the Umakanta Academy ground and concluded at the Ujjayanta Palace. The primary goal of this event was to emphasize the significance of cleanliness, promote youth involvement, and advocate for the segregation of waste at its source.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Ray inaugurated the event by hoisting the flag, extending his congratulations to Agartala's residents for their commitment to cleanliness. He emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi's dream of a clean and beautiful India is being realized through the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, which has yielded tremendous results nationwide.
This event also marks the commencement of India Cleanliness League 2.0, themed "Youth vs. Waste," set to continue until 2024. Mayor of AMC Dipak Majumdar expressed his gratitude for the collective efforts of all involved, including Deputy Mayor Monika Das Datta, members of the Urban Development Committee, corporate stakeholders, and government officials were present.
The rally included the participation of over 200 NCC cadets, students from various schools and colleges, and volunteers from local clubs, all united in the pursuit of a cleaner India.
