CM assures rehabilitation of all post poll affected families, strict action against political violence in Tripura
Soon after returning from West Bengal, the Chief Minister along with BJP leaders on Tuesday evening visited the Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel in Agartala to meet families from various districts of the state who have taken shelter there after becoming victims of political violence.
During the visit, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha interacted with the affected individuals and enquired about their well-being.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister said that “it was noted that following the 2018 and 2023 Assembly elections, efforts were made to put an end to political vendetta and restore peace across the state. However, a section of miscreants continues to resort to violence in an attempt to assert their dominance. The administration reiterated its firm belief in the rule of law, emphasizing that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found disrupting law and order”.
The Chief Minister also assured that immediate steps will be taken to ensure proper rehabilitation and security for those affected by political violence. Under the ‘Tripura Recovery of Damages to Public Property Act 2021’, individuals responsible for such damage will be made to compensate for the losses, and the recovered amount will be distributed among the affected families.
