CM thanks PM for highlighting Tripura’s bio-village project in Maan Ki Baat
Chief Minister Manik Saha extended his gratitude towards the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for highlighting Tripura's bio-village project in his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat' radio broadcast on Sunday.
Tripura Renewable Energy Development Authority (TREDA) in association with the Bio-Technology department of the state established the country's first bio-village at Daspara, in Sepahijala district, about 25 km from here.
After hearing the ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme at his constituency in the Town Bardowali area of Agartala, the Chief Minister speaking with media persons said that the Prime Minister was highlighting and promoting the state's first bio-village on which work had started around two years ago. The concept of bio-village is environment-friendly, water pumps for irrigation and lighting systems are solar-powered.
He said all the families living in the state’s first bio-village are fulfilling their power requirement through solar energy.
The Prime Minister in the radio programme on Sunday made a special reference to the successful implementation of the concept of bio-village in the northeastern state and applauded the efforts by the authorities.
Non-renewable sources of energy can be beneficial for remote areas of the state as transporting electrical energy is costly and not economically viable, the chief minister said.
The Chief Minister in his tweet said that "I wholeheartedly thank Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for highlighting Tripura’s Biol village project in his popular programme Maan Ki Baat. The recognition by the Prime Minister is a source of encouragement for the people of Tripura."
