Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha paid a visit on Sunday to the residence of Late Saptadip Nama, a beloved 6-year-old child from Laxmibil under Bishalgarh Sub-division who tragically drowned in the Khowai River while visiting Khowai district, leaving the entire state in shock and mourning.

During the visit today, the CM has also extended financial support of Rs 4 lakh to the bereaved family.

During his visit, the Chief Minister extended his deepest condolences to the grieving family, expressing his sorrow over the untimely loss. He assured them that the government would provide unwavering support and assistance in the days to come. In this regard, he promptly directed the concerned officials to ensure that all possible government aid reaches the family, emphasizing the importance of their well-being during this challenging time.

The unfortunate incident occurred on May 21 when three children, Moutushi Das (12), Saptadip Nama (6), and Khushi Roy (10), drowned while bathing in the Khowai River with their grandfather.

CM Dr. Saha wrote, "A few days ago, Saptadip Nama, the 6-year-old son of Bapi Nama, a resident of Lakshmibil in Bishalgarh, lost his life in a tragic accident in the Khowai River.

Today, I visited the child's residence in Lakshmibil and met with the grieving family members. I want to assure them that the state government will spare no effort in supporting the bereaved family during this difficult time.”
