CM vows comprehensive development of sports and infrastructure in Tripura
Tripura Chief Minister, Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Monday expressed his government's commitment to the comprehensive development of sports and sports infrastructure in the state.
While inaugurating an open Gym in Ramnagar, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always urged people to practice Yoga. Due to his appeal, the entire country celebrates 21st of June as International Yoga Day.
“Not only India but PM Modi thinks for the entire world. Yoga is not just an exercise but also a philosophy and tradition of India. If our health is not good, then positive thinking and doing positive work are not possible,” said Dr Saha.
Dr Saha also mentioned that the Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor has informed him about the corporation's efforts to make the city clean, starting with roads, drains, etc.
“Not only the AMC, but the government and people should come forward to clean the garbage in our state and from our minds too. This location is very familiar to me, and the Mayor has informed me how dirty this place was earlier. Now, after the construction of the gym, it will create a positive environment in this area. Our government is sincere about the sports development in the state, and in the current budget, we have decided to set up two Yuva Awas in Kailashahar in Unakoti District and in Udaipur of Gomati District. For infrastructure development, we have decided to set up a stadium at Santirbazar under South District,” said the Chief Minister.
He further informed that the state government has also allocated funds for the ‘Mukhyamantri Sports Development Scheme’ to provide scholarships to sports persons.
“We have already set up 4 synthetic turf football grounds in the state. Our government is working to develop sports in the state, and there is no other alternative to sports. We can develop ourselves physically and mentally through sports. If we work hard and practice regularly, we can achieve our goals, breaking all hurdles. Our government is trying to address all the basic needs of the people, but it is not possible alone, and everyone should come forward to change society,” added the Chief Minister.
