Congress gears up for Rahul, Priyanka visit in December
Tripura Pradesh Congress after an organizational meeting at Agartala has started preparation for the ensuing visit of party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to the state in December next and for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Tripura Pradesh Congress leaders including all chairman and presidents of different wings of Congress on Saturday gathered at Tripura Students’ Health home in Agartala and participated in the organizational meeting of the party.
During the meeting , speaking with media persons Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha said that they had detailed discussions over the preparations of the party for the ensuing visit of AICC’s senior leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in December, dates yet to be finalized.
He said that the state unit of the party has taken some concrete steps for monitoring of voter lists in every booth of the state and has also discussed with leaders over the party’s Raj Bhavan Abhijan in December in support of their number of demands.
He said that Congress gears up for Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi’s visit, who are expected to visit Tripura within the second or third week of December.
A few days ago, Congress secretary in-charge of Tripura Szarita Laitphlang had said that the visit by the Gandhis will be finalised after the announcement of the Assembly election results in the five states, including Mizoram and Rajasthan.
Rahul and Priyanka’s purpose visit is to strengthen the party organisation and to hold meetings with the state leaders and listen and learn about the problems and sufferings of the people. The senior leaders will also visit Tripura Sundari temple at Udaipur in Gomati district, said Ashish Saha.
