Diwali fair starts at BSF’s Tripura frontier headquarters
Diwali is the festival of light and is one of the most popular festivals of India, which is celebrated with great fervor and gaiety. BSF troops are celebrating Diwali at the BSF campuses across Tripura.
On Saturday, a Diwali Mela was organized at Frontier headquarters of BSF Tripura at Salbagan. DIG (PSO) R K Singh of Tripura frontier along with his wife inaugurated the Diwali Mela. BSF personnel and their family members participated with great enthusiasm and enjoyed the various games, food stalls, cultural programmes etc.
A BSF press statement said that the Mela (fair) had all the elements of enjoyment and varieties with ethnic food stalls, games, entertainment activities as well as cultural programmes for the ‘seema praharies’, their family, children and other invitees. A local troupe also performed in the mela, which was appreciated by all. BSF families including visitors from civil were mesmerized and in awe of the various events and cultural programmes.
BSF Jazz, Brass band and the cracker show was the event of attraction and appreciated by all who witnessed the event. The festival brought a happy change and break in the daily routine of the BSF Jawans guarding the sensitive Indo-Bangladesh border of Tripura.
