Drug inspector attacked by illegal medicine shop owner in Khowai
One Drug Inspector was physically assaulted by a group of miscreants, when he was busy with his official duty at Laltilla area of Ramchandraghat assembly constituency under Khowai district on Friday evening.
After the incident, injured drug inspector Subrata Das shifted to Khowai hospital and later, he was admitted to a private hospital in Agartala.
Injured Drug Inspector Subrata Das alleged that based on a specific complaint, he visited the Laltilla area of Khowai after his official duty in Kalyanpur. They have specific information that one Jatan Shil was running an illegal medicine shop without any license and when he visited the shop of Jatan Shil and started his enquiry, immediately Jatan Shil phoned and brought some miscreants at his shop.
A group of 4 to 5 miscreants with sticks all of sudden attacked him and severely injured him. Miscreants have also ransacked his vehicle. While, local villagers of raised question over the allegations made by the drug inspector and claimed that due to his personal interest, during the past one year he did not take any legal action against illegal medicine trader Jatan Shil due to his involvement in corruption.
