Drug peddler arrested by city police with Yaba, Heroine

Giving details of the operation, SDPO(Sadar) Ajoy Kumar Das said that on Wednesday midnight based on the secret information, the OC of West Agartala police station, Jayanta Kumar Dey raided the house of one Shankar Sarkar in bordering Lankamura area.
In the course of the search operation, police recovered large quantities of Yaba tablets and suspected Heroin under his possession. Police also seized a TVS scooty, which was used for transportation of the drug consignment.
Das said that drug peddler Shankar Debnath has been arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) case and has also been forwarded to a local court with police remand appeals to interrogate him. He said that during interrogation, a police investigating team will unearth the supply chain and money train of the narcotic smugglers active in the capital city and will burst their racket.
