Drug peddler arrested with Brown Sugar worth of Rs. 10 lakh
The Agartala city police on Thursday arrested one drug peddler from Dhaleshwar area of the city and recovered Brown Sugar worth Rs. 10 lakh and some cash amount under his possession.
Giving details SDPO (Sadar) Debaprasad Roy said that the East Agartala police station has specific information over selling of drugs by a paddler in Dhaleshwar area by moving through his car. Based on the information, a police team led by OC of East Agartala police station Rana Chatterjee on Thursday afternoon managed to detained him, who has been identified as Raju Debbarma, who is staying at a rented house at Dhaleshwar road number-7 at the house of one Babul Paul.
During a search operation his car (TR001-BU-0425) recovered 4 packets of Brown Sugar, weighing 48 grams, worth Rs. 10 lakh, Rs. 28,000 cash and a mobile phone.
Roy said that accused drug peddler will be produced before a local court on Friday under a specific case of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 with police remand appeal to find out the network of drug dealers.
