DYFI to organize protest rallies against Manipur violence, demanding jobs for all
The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) organized protest rallies and public gatherings across Tripura in protest against the communal violence in Manipur.
DYFI’s general secretary Himaghnaraj Bhattacharjee along with leaders of the state unit addressing a press conference said that their organization was deeply concerned about the attack on women and questioned the silence of the Prime Minister on the matter.
In order to promote unity and secularism, DYFI has planned to send a delegation to violence hit Manipur and will meet the affected families, said Bhattacharjee and added that the state unit of DYFI will organize massive movements from September to October in support of their demands for jobs.
He said that day by day Tripura is reaching its peak in unemployment rate and thousands of youths are going to other parts of the state for their livelihood.
While slamming the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) episodes, the state unit secretary Nabarun Deb strongly condemned the inner fights among the factions of TCA’s governing body and demanded immediate steps from the state government to investigate the days-long incident and scam involving crores of money.
He alleged that after the formation of BJP government in 2018, miscreants are ruling the sports bodies and it reflected during the attack on former Tripura skipper and vice-president of TCA, Timir Chanda in front of TCA complex in presence of a large number of security forces.
They also expressed their anguish over massive drug abuse across the state and alleged ‘silent’ role of the state government to make Tripura a safe haven for drug smugglers.
During the press meet, DYFI’s state president Palash Bhowmik along with other leaders DYFI and TYF were also present.
