ECI team arrived in the state, held meetings with DMs, SPs

In order to review the poll preparedness of the state election machinery, a top level team of Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday arrived in the state for their two days visit and held a series of meetings with top officials of the state government.

Official sources said that senior deputy Election Commissioner Nitesh Kumar Vyas and R K Gupta will meet the state official through a series of meetings to review the preparation for 2023 assembly elections in Tripura.

Sources added that on Tuesday, both the senior deputy Election Commissioners soon after their arrival attended a high level meeting with all District Magistrates (DMs) and SPs of all eight districts of the state here at the state guest house in presence of Chief Electoral officer (CEO), Tripura Kiran Gitte.

On Wednesday, the ECI team is scheduled to attend a meeting with other concerned officials and will return back to New Delhi in the evening.
