Father gets 7 yrs jail for outrage of modesty to his minor daughter
A local court of Agartala on Thursday has convicted and sentenced an accused to suffer rigorous imprisonment of seven years of jail for outrage of modesty to minor daughter.
Sources said that the Additional District and Session court of West Tripura district on Thursday convicted and sentenced accused Rafik Miah (35) of South Ramnagar, PEC Batta area under West Agartala police station in connection of a POCSO Act case registered at West Agartala women police station and sentenced him 7 years of jail under section 354 of IPC and 12 of The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act).
Police sources said that on May 7th, 2022 night accused Rafik Maih outraged the modesty of his own minor daughter while she was sleeping. After the shameful act of the father, an FIR was registered at West Agartala women police station and investigating officer (IO) women Sub-Inspector , now in-charge Inspector Minna Majumder thoroughly investigated the case and submitted a charge-sheet, which subsequently ended in conviction.
