Five days budget session of assembly commence from March 1st
The budget session of Tripura legislative assembly will commence from March 1st and will continue for next five days up to March 5th next.
Speaking with media persons after the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), held on Monday at the assembly complex of Speaker Biswabandhu Sen , Parliamentary Affairs and Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that all parties unanimously decided for a five days budget session.
He said that all parties wanted to extend the day of the budget session, but the Election Commission of India (ECI) can declare the schedules of General Election of the country and before announcement of poll, the assembly wanted to complete the budget session.
The BAC finally decided to conduct the session for five days. The budget would be tabled on March 1st itself after a supplementary grant. The session would remain suspended on March 2nd and 3rd since those are holidays, the next working day of the House would be March 4th and 5th, said Nath.
He said that after the supplementary grant, the Finance Minister of the state will place the budget of the state on first, then question-hour, BAC report and reference calling.
In the budget session, a new and important bill will be placed ‘The Tripura Public Demand Recovery Act’, which will be placed for amendment.
After holidays on Saturday and Sunday, the budget session will resume on March 4th and on the same day after private members resolutions, the supplementary grant and bill will be passed. The Budget discussions will be held on March 4th and 5th and after discussion, the budget for financial years 2024-25 will be passed in the session.
