Four Bangla nationals with an agent arrested from Belonia
Four Bangladesh nationals along with an Indian agent were arrested by South Tripura district police on Saturday.
Police sources said that Border Guards (BSF) jawans of 109th battalion posted bordering the Mothai area of Belonia had specific information of trespassing of four Bangladesh nationals including women and they had entered into Indian territory with help of an Indian agent.
Based on the information, a joint contingent of BSF jawans along with police personnel of Hrishyamukh police outpost raided the house of Ashish Majumder at Old Mothai village. During the raid, security forces detained four Bangladeshi including two women and also arrested agent Ashihs Majumder.
Police sources from Belonia police station said that they have arrested all four Bangladesh nationals under Passport Act and have also arrested Ashish Majumder under section 370 of IPC. All five persons were produced before a local court with three days police remand appeals on Saturday afternoon.
Police added that during primary interrogation, all arrested Bangladesh nationals revealed that they entered Indian territory without any valid documents with help of agent Ashish Majumder and they will go to Surat city of Gujarat.
