Gandhi birthday observed with patriotic fervor
Tripura along with the entire nation on Monday observed 154th Gandhi Jaynati through various programmes and with patriotic fervor.
Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma paid floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Circuit House and also at the martyr spot of Gandhi Ghat with the presence of senior administrative officials. Bhajans, Shramadaan programme has also been organized to mark Gandhi Jayanti in the capital city of Agartala.
The Tripura Pradesh Congress on Monday also observed the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with patriotic fervour through different programmes on the day.
Hundreds of Congress activists and workers of ‘Seva Dal’ as part of their weeklong celebration started the day with a morning rally with awareness messages of Mahatma Gandhi and passed through various thoroughfares of the city. Later, Congress leaders and workers paid floral tributes at the martyr spot of Gandhighat area and organized a meeting in memory of the father of the nation in front of Congress Bhavan. The party workers also observed the day in every district of the state with patriotic fervour.
