Gang of thieves arrested, recovered many stolen items

The Agartala city police in continuation of their drive against growing stolen incidents, on Wednesday managed to arrest a gang of thieves involved with multiple stolen incidents and recovered many stolen items.
Giving details SP (West) Kiran Kumar said that police have specific information over involvement of a gang, who have committed many stolen incidents in and around the city and police team are collecting their information to arrest them.
On Wednesday, the East Agartala police station had a report over the theft of an e-rickshaw and based on the information, police started an investigation and managed to track the thieves involved with the incident.
Police team caught two thieves, who were dismantling the batteries from an e-rickshaw and arrested them. Based on the interrogation statements of two arrested thieves, police have also detained two more thieves and recovered one laptop, one smart mobile phone, batteries of e-rickshaw and many other household items under their possessions, said Kumar .
He said that arrested gang members were involved with many stolen incidents held in and around the city and hoped that after interrogation, police will be able to recover other stolen items.
