GMP to launch statewide movements from Nov 15 in support of their demands
In order to strengthen the bases of the party in tribal areas of the state, Tripura Rajya Upajati Ganamukti Parishad (TRUGP), the tribal wing of opposition CPI (M) will launch massive movements across the state from November 15th next in support of their eight points of charter of demands.
Addressing a press conference here at CPI (M) headquarters on Monday after former Chief Executive Member (CEM) of ADC and general secretary of GMP Radhacharan Debbarma said that the central committee of the Ganamukti Parishad’s (GMP) had elaborate discussion over the present political situation of the state and decided to launch mass movements in all eight districts of the state from November 15 and will continue up to December next against deprivation policies of BJP government.
He alleged that the condition of the hilly people are deteriorating day by day and the BJP-RSS are now also trying to create religious division among tribal populations.
Debbarma said that during the past five and half years, the BJP government has collapsed the rural economy and poor tribal people are suffering a lot to earn their two squares of meal. Massive crisis of jobs is now increasing day by day and educated youths are going to other states of the country in search of jobs, said Debbarma.
The GMP will organize statewide protest programmes from November 15th in support of their eight point charter of demands as the condition of the people living in hilly areas are deteriorating day by day during the rule of BJP-IPFT government, said Debbarma.
Criticizing the policies of the state government, Debbarma claimed in every sector the government has virtually failed to maintain their pre-poll commitment and poorer sections of the society are suffering day by day due to anti-people policies of the governments.
During the press meet GMP’s state president and former minister Naresh Jamatia along with other leaders were also present.
