Govt has given priority for welfare of tribal people, Bikash Debbarma
The Tribal Welfare Department is implementing various schemes to make the unemployed youth of the tribal community self-reliant. The government has given priority to the welfare and overall development of tribal community in the state. Minister of Tribal Welfare Bikash Debbarma said this at the distribution programme of movable food carts under special central assistance to tribal sub-scheme of the Ministry of Tribal Welfare of the Central Government in the premises of Tribal Welfare Department in Gorkhabasti yesterday. In the programme, 6 tribal unemployed youths of Agartala Municipal Corporation area were handed over the keys of the running small food carts for making food. 2 lakh 30 thousand rupees have been spent on each food cart. Self-entrepreneurs can make and sell traditional tribal food and other fast food in this food carts.
The Minister of Tribal Welfare also said that the government wants employment for all. That is why government jobs cannot be the only way. There are various schemes for self-reliance.
For this purpose, the government has laid emphasis on skill development. Tripura Tribal Development Corporation Ltd. Provides loans to the unemployed youth of the tribal community in the state to train them in various professions and start their own business. Director of the Tribal Welfare Department, Prabhu delivered the welcome address . Additional Director of Tribal Welfare Department Ananda Hari Jamatia, Joint Director Shaswat Sen, Joint Director Parimal Majumder, Joint Director V. Darlong and others were present on the occasion. Suman Debbarma, Rekha Debbarma, Sushanta Debbarma, Motilal Debbarma, Khokan Debbarma and Montu Debbarma of Agartala Municipal Corporation area have received support in this scheme. At the end of the programme, Tribal Welfare Minister and other guests handed over the keys of the movable food carts to the beneficiaries.
