Govt sincere towards welfare of journalists, media: Dr Saha
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday said the media has a major role to play in the development process.
The Chief Minister said this after inaugurating a blood donation camp organized by the Tripura Working Journalists' Association at the Agartala Press Club.
"Each morning, individuals eagerly wait for the newspaper to stay informed about the state and the country. Journalists and the media are mirror of the society, and the public perceives news in the manner it is presented. I am delighted to acknowledge that Tripura journalists are no less capable than national-level journalists. Our government is journalist-friendly. The journalists work tirelessly around the clock, and it's important that we accord them due respect," said Dr. Saha.
He said that the state government is working for the betterment of the journalist.
"We are committed to the welfare of journalists. Personally, I share a longstanding and positive relationship with journalists. I have witnessed the impactful potential of their writing. The pen is mightier than the sword. The way journalists gather information is akin to an art form. We are actively organizing training sessions and workshops for journalists within the state," said Dr Saha.
During the program, Mayor of AMC Dipak Majumder, Director of ICA Bimbisar Bhattacharya and others were present.
