GST Super of Dharmanagar died in a road mishap
In a tragic road mishap, a GST superintendent, posted at Dharmanagar subdivision under North Tripura district died on way to hospital after he fell down from an e-rickshaw on Monday.
Sources said that on Monday afternoon, when GST superintendent, Hemankar Roy (52) of Tarapur area of Silchar, Assam, posted at Dharmanagar subdivision arrived at Dharmanagar Railway station from Silchar and boarded an e-rickshaw to reach his office. While, on the way to his office, Roy all of sudden fell down from the e-rickshaw and suffered critical injuries.
Some local people, especially a local journalist tried to rescue him and through an –e-rickshaw he also tried to shift him to a local hospital and from the Central road area of town, Firefighters took him and shifted in the hospital. But, visiting doctor Anup Goswami declared him dead.
Later, local police rushed to the spot and informed the family members of the deceased man.
Police said they have lodged an Unnatural Death (UD) case and will hand over the body of the deceased man after autopsy on Tuesday. Police also started an investigation to unearth the reason for the death of GST superintendent including verifying CCTV footage.
