Hajagiri dance guru Padmashree awardee Satyaram Reang passed away
Internationally acclaimed ‘Hajagiri’ dance Guru Padmasree Satyaram Reang passed away at his ancestor village at Dashami Reang Para of Santirbazar subdivision under South Tripura district on Monday.
State's veteran Hajagiri dance Padmashree awardee Satyaram Reang was 85 years old when he died. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Union Minister of State, Pratima Bhowmik and many others expressed deep grief over his demise.
Late.Satyaram Reang (81) was survived by two sons and five daughters. Reang was awarded Padmashree in 2021 for his outstanding contribution towards the Hojagiri dance.
